“Be too dumb to quit and too stubborn to back off” ~Steven Pressfield

For the runner in search of a unique challenge, we present the Sawatch 50/50! The 50/50 is a combination of two races: the West Line Winder 50k and the Sawatch Ascent 50k. The West Line Winder is a fast and flowing race that twists, rolls, and climbs between the valley floor and the eastern hills of Fourmile. The Sawatch Ascent is a high-alpine vert-fest that punishes your lungs and shreds your quads by running from the valley floor to 13,100’. Together they showcase the two extremes of the Sawatch, one a high desert and the other an towering mountainscape. When stacked back-to-back, they present a unique test-piece that will require all the skills of a successful trail runner. Featuring its own leaderboard and place awards, the Sawatch 50/50 is guaranteed to be the best weekend of the year. Featuring unique prizes, special colored bibs (so you can see who you’re racing against), free, professionally taken hi-resolution pictures, and its own leaderboard, you won’t regret your signing up for the Sawatch 50/50.

The overall champions will claim the title of the Sawatch GOAT (Greatest of All Time) and be exempt from any requirements of humility when it comes to bragging rights.

What do you get for running both 50k races?

  • Two shirts, one from each race (assuming you didn’t select “no shirt”)

  • Laws Whiskey prizes

  • Finisher Awards from each race (assuming you didn’t select “no medals”)

  • Professional Pictures from race photographers from both races

  • Podium prizes for top 3 men, women, and non-binary finishers

  • Overall champs get a free entry to the 50/50 for the next year to defend their Sawatch GOAT titles.

The overall group winners win lottery bypasses into the High Lonesome!

  • Yup, you read that right. The overall 50/50 winners from each group will get a lottery bypass into the follow year’s High Lonesome 100! If the winner doesn’t want it, it gets passed down to second (and third if second doesn’t want it).

The 50/50 is also a High Lonesome 100 qualifier!

  • You must finish both races under their 11 hour cutoffs.
